UK domain name disputes can arise when a registration interferes with a brand, business name or commercial relationship. PAD International Group supports assessment, evidence organisation and procedural coordination for businesses facing a contested domain. The first step is identifying the relevant domain extension and the correct dispute process; not every domain uses the same rules.

Assess the rights and the disputed use
We review the claimed rights, relevant registrations, trading history and available evidence of how the domain is used. Useful materials may include dated screenshots, correspondence, invoices and evidence of customer confusion. A similar name does not automatically establish a successful complaint. The applicable policy’s requirements and the respondent’s explanation must be considered.
The .uk dispute resolution route
For relevant .uk disputes, the Dispute Resolution Service applies its own policy. The administration of new DRS cases transferred to WIPO on 7 July 2026, while earlier Nominet-filed cases continue through their existing administration. We check the current filing route and applicable procedure when a matter is opened. A .com dispute may instead raise a different policy, such as the UDRP, and should not be described as a .uk case.
Preparation, negotiation and procedural coordination
The agreed scope may include a rights-and-evidence summary, a chronology, complaint or response preparation support and coordination with suitable specialists. Negotiation or mediation may be relevant depending on the process and the parties’ objectives. Any court action or reserved litigation is referred to appropriately authorised professionals. We do not promise a transfer, cancellation or damages outcome.
Preserve evidence before making changes
A business should preserve relevant evidence and establish who controls the domain, hosting and account access before contacting the other party. For example, a former distributor may continue using a brand-related domain after a contract ends. The review should consider the distribution contract and the registration history as well as trade mark rights. Unauthorised access to someone else’s account is never part of this service.
How the engagement works
Start by sending a short description of your business, the relevant countries and the outcome you need. We review suitability and any urgent dates, clarify the information required and confirm a written scope. The proposal sets out deliverables, responsibilities, timing and fees. Government, tribunal, institutional and third-party charges are identified separately where relevant. Work starts only after the engagement arrangements and necessary checks are completed.
Frequently asked questions
Does a trade mark guarantee recovery of a domain?
No. The relevant dispute policy and facts determine the assessment; trade mark rights are only part of the analysis.
Can you help respond to a complaint?
Yes. Response support can be scoped separately after reviewing the policy, notice and deadlines.
Is arbitration the same as a domain dispute procedure?
No. Domain procedures have specific policies and remedies. Commercial arbitration arises from an arbitration agreement and a different legal framework.
