AI Lawyer for Companies Building and Using Artificial Intelligence

Dr. Ahmadreza Moini is an AI lawyer and university lecturer who advises businesses on the regulation, contracts, data protection and disputes that come with developing, buying or deploying AI systems — across the UAE, the wider Gulf, Iran and markets reached by the EU AI Act.

Why You Need an AI Lawyer

AI Creates Legal Risk Before It Creates Value

Artificial intelligence touches almost every area of law at once: who owns the training data and the output, who is liable when an automated decision causes harm, how personal data may be processed, and which rules apply when a model built in one country is used in another. Regulators are moving quickly, and contracts written for traditional software rarely answer these questions.

An AI lawyer helps you identify these risks early, build compliance into your product and procurement decisions, and allocate responsibility clearly with suppliers, customers and partners — so that AI becomes an advantage rather than a liability.

  • 01

    Regulation Is Expanding

The EU AI Act, national AI strategies and data protection laws now place concrete obligations on AI providers and users.

  • 02

    Data Is the Core Asset

Training, fine-tuning and deploying AI raises questions of consent, cross-border transfer and data ownership.

  • 03

    Liability Is Unsettled

Errors, bias and automated decisions can expose companies to contractual, regulatory and civil claims.

  • 04

    Cross-Border by Default

AI services cross jurisdictions easily, so conflict-of-laws analysis is essential from the start.

Common Questions

AI Lawyer — Frequently Asked Questions

An AI lawyer advises on the legal issues raised by artificial intelligence: regulatory compliance, data protection, intellectual property in data and outputs, contracts with AI vendors and customers, liability for automated decisions, and disputes arising from AI projects.
It can. The EU AI Act has extraterritorial reach and may apply to providers and deployers outside the EU when their AI systems are placed on the EU market or their outputs are used in the EU. We assess whether and how it applies to your products.
The answer depends on where you operate. Onshore UAE businesses are subject to the federal personal data protection law, while free zones such as DIFC and ADGM have their own data protection regimes, and sector regulators may impose additional requirements. We identify the rules that apply to your activities.
Ownership of AI-generated output is unsettled in many jurisdictions and often depends on human contribution and on the terms of the AI provider. Clear contracts are the most reliable way to secure rights in AI outputs and models.
Liability may fall on the developer, the deployer or the user depending on the facts, the applicable law and the contracts between the parties. Allocating this risk in advance through contracts and governance is a central part of AI legal advice.
Yes. Consultations are available by video call and in writing, in English, Persian, and on request French or Arabic, as well as in person at our office in the Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone, UAE.
